... suits me again and the NEW Math...

It's been a hectic few days here with my fella's plumbing issues being more extensive than we thought. He and his 13-year-old cat who has only ever lived in one home have moved in. This was the plan for December after we were married but everything had to speed up into about 36 hours... plus, IKEA furniture arrived on Monday. The kitty is stressed; my fella is stressed; and I'm super ready for everything to calm down. This evening I'm off to a movie premiere for work. This is just a quick follow-up to my ..suits me just fine... post since again today I'm wearing my new White House Black Market and tried on a beautiful Ponte Moto Black Jacket.

I just think it's so adorable PLUS I have this weird idea in my head that the more often I wear a pricey piece of clothing, the cheaper it is. For example, if there's a $100 pair of socks (I picked something ridiculous, I know) each time I wear the socks it's like I'm renting them. If I wear them twice, each wear cost $50. If I wear them 100 times, the socks were $1 per wear. It's the new- new Math :p This really helped me when I bought my academic regalia which was expensive at a little over $800. But now, I've attended more than a dozen events in it so the price per wear is under $65. All zipped up, the jacket is super structured so I'd like to apologize for sneering at those fashion experts. And not that you can tell in these photos (Note: I think I can take some amazing pictures of flowers but photos of me always turn out a little blurry because I'm taking them myself and usually in mirrors... so sorry about that) but I do have painted toe nails. I used

  1. What a lovely jacket, it rocks!! You look absolutely adorable in your outfit. Tehe, I have the same thoughts about wearing expensive clothes. They have often a higher quality and keep their shape a much longer time so, in that aspect they are much more valuable. I usually buy expensive shoes that lives forever and I also buy vintage second hand shoes.

    1. I never blink at buying expensive shoes especially because I'm always considering comfort. I guess that falls into a health category so I don't mind putting a few more dollars that way. And you're right, quality clothing lasts!

  2. Lol I like your new new math, it's the same way I justify buying pricier items (although I've since discovered that high cost doesn't always equate good quality).

    1. Yeah, I hear ya on that. Fortunately, I think that WHBM makes some pretty good quality items. Hopefully this will last... and if it doesn't I'm somewhat to blame. I'm a bit hard on clothing and shoes as a commuter.

    1. Ha! Thanks for noticing the mirrors and now the chaotic display on my dresser. My fella has moved in and my knickknacks have been pushed aside :-O I need to find a home for all my trinkets.

  4. I am so glad you made a second post, because the pictures in the first post were pretty and you looked beautiful, but now I really noticed those ruffle-things on the edges of the zipper too! :D

I too do that new new math, thinking that if I really wear it and enjoy it it is worth it. ^^

  5. Great outfit! And your New Math is definitely better and more understandable than the OLD New Math I had to learn in fourth grade! Of course, that was back in 1492, when they still used abacuses... ;-)

  6. That fashion math makes perfect sense to me -- it's cost-per-wear! I do it all the time :) And I still want that jacket.
