"Spring
makes its own statement,
so loud and clear
that
the gardener
seems to be only one of the instruments,
not the composer.”
~ Geoffrey B.
Charlesworth
This
is the first full week that has felt like SPRING! A full week of open-toe
shoes; a full week of lightweight jackets (mostly for the train).
There
is new growth popping up all around me. This morning I stepped on campus to see
my first tree that is fully in bloom. Beautiful!
I
have two new dresses that feel very much suited for the season. As always, my
morning pictures (pre-5 a.m.) are somewhat dark. Sorry about that. The black and white dress has
hummingbirds! The floral dress I wore out for my birthday dinner. I might look
dainty here but I am so ready to get my hands in the dirt. I might need to
plant some annuals this weekend.
Next
week is the university’s spring break so while I do have to come in a few days
for meetings, my days will be a bit lighter which is good because I volunteered
to become a judge for one of the youth programs and now I have eight adolescent
books to read in the next few weeks!
I promise I had absolutely no control of over the book selection! One of the books is Vampires Don’t Wear Polka Dots
by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones which I should read while I wear my vampire lips design "Kiss My Fangs." Yep, I do love my job.
You look fantastic! the book looks fun, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteAwesome nails (and outfits)! I'm champing at the bit for spring's return, too. It feels like it's been winter for a century now (and not in a good, fun vintage-y kind of way!).
ReplyDeleteBig hugs & happy end of winter wishes,
♥ Jessica
Oh how I do hate long winters but I try to learn something from them. Note the use of try ;)
DeleteYou look great! Love spring dresses! Just not on me;)

DeleteRead that book years ago! its adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm a judge for a youth program reading competition. I'm going to have to dress up like Mrs. Jeepers she's so awesome!
