Stumbling upon Pottery Barn's Halloween collection in the store was extra exciting because they often have a slow release where products are added daily as the season continues AND because while they often have Online Exclusive items, it appears that a few things that were in the stores have not been (or had not yet been) posted online. My Jack-o-lantern shot glass from a previous post is one such example.
This tray (it looks like a small table but it is not) is much better in person that what I predicted seeing it online. Alas, I just do not have room. The glass slides out for easy cleaning.
This Halloween season appears to be the *Season of the Witch*. Last year Pottery Barn had more of a pirate focus (and the year before there were more vampire items). I don't buy many witch-related items partly because I feel slightly uncomfortable with our country's history and treatment of young women who maybe acted a bit counter culture and maybe just ended up being born with a mole or red hair. Learning about the Salem Witch trials in school has stuck with me. I'm curious how my Pagan and Wiccan friends feel about this. I also hate to admit that the broom drink stirrers are super cute.
I hadn't seen these wine stoppers online. The spider was adorable and I have my eye on the skull for sure.
Another view of the tray with a skeleton wine glass.
I was super excited about seeing these until closer inspection. The skeleton head looks like it has melted. Nice idea but they weren't for me.
A formal apology to Insomniac’s Attic but I really couldn't control myself!
I enjoy the witchy stuff, because despite the best efforts of many awful individuals over the course of centuries (and to this very day)....we're still here. I'll raise a glass (with a broom swizzle) to that.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, I think that is an excellent way to put it. Cheers!
DeleteIf I'm very lucky, by the time I make it into the city the next time, Pottery Barn will be sold out of everything. And I will not order online when our dollar is only worth a piddling 75 cents US! So I will just enjoy all these lovely pictures you've so generously posted instead and save myself a whack of money, won't I? LOL
ReplyDeleteI am often thrilled when the stores don't have anything that I *MUST HAVE*. Window shopping is the best because it gives you all the ambiance without the concern about cost :D
DeleteOh my, this and the previous post are just so full of lovely, amazing, and absolutely essential things every goth needs. I am so envious we do not have Halloween in Finland like you have in USA. :D
ReplyDeleteI need to send you a box of goodies!
DeleteI want everything!
ReplyDeletePersonally I like witchy stuff to celebrate those women who were once punished for being different!
