...suck it up buttercup, yard art is here to stay...

This weekend, I picked up some onion African blue basil, red ruby basil and onion chives at the Herbs Galore & More event. The African blue basil tastes similar to sweet basil. It has pink flowers that can be used for attractive garnishes. I like it because the leaves turn green but retail the purple veins. The red ruby basil is a gorgeous dark purple which will probably find its way into a basil cocktail. And onion chives, they’re pretty and practical for cooking!

I’m also a sucker for garden art. I know; I know. I hardly have room in my backyard for plants let alone more clutter but these pieces made from recycled materials are from Everblooming Garden Glass with the transformed spoons from The Dancing Pear fit in perfectly and do not take up much room at all ((mutters her own inner-enabler))

  1. I love the imagination you put into your garden, all the little extra decorations! I wish I knew how to do something similar, but with constant rains and winds, anything I put up will be dirty or broken within weeks over here.

    1. Thanks. I just find things I like that I think will withstand nature and I cram it in ;D I do have a tendency for word art. That reminds me, I should do a DIY cement stone post when it stops raining every day!

  2. I just recently found my way in to your blog. I just have to say that I adore Goth gardening theme <3 Your post of graveyard tourism was so fun, cause one of my many daydreams include a trip to France, Hellfest and to a specific cemetary in Paris :D Not this year, maybe next :) This is also my very 1st spring with a proper little garden and I am gathering ideas for it~ I just hope that our summer here in Finland is not as freezing as last year.

    1. Welcome! Thank you for finding me (or, my blog rather) and for commenting.

I love visiting cemeteries. I'm a university professor and am currently developing a Dark Tourism course for the spring 2017 semester. Since I'm in the process of researching literature and events, I may post a bit more about that in the future. Glad you like it!

Oh, I do hope your summer isn't terrible cold!
