Life's a jest,
and all things show it.
I thought so
once, and now I know it.”

Today is Plan Your Epitaph Day which is a day to
reflect on your mortality, and even to consider what you would like to leave on
your gravestone.

Here, we’re having a terrible storm this morning
with thunder and lightning so instead of going to a cemetery to look at
epitaphs I’ve looked through my old photo albums and selected some of my
favorites.

Whenever I see articles about epitaphs, they usually
focus on those that are funny or slightly weird. I tend to be drawn to those
that tell a little about the person.

I like those!
DeleteThank goodness somebody remembered it was Plan Your Epitaph Day. I didn't! I'd like something snarky on mine, but I haven't figured out what yet. ;)
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha...
DeleteIn 1992 I left a job that I had had for 12 years. When I saw the advert for the position in the local newspaper it felt like I was reading my obituary.
ReplyDeleteI love the selection of the tomb stones you have selected. I didn't even realise it was r Epitaph Day. I totally neglect my any Christian traditions. My family were never religious
ReplyDeleteActually, I have to thank Insomniac's Attic for putting together her calendar and adding this day :D
