“You have this
ability to find beauty
in weird places.”
~ Kamila Shamsie
I am
my father's daughter. No question from where my *weird* comes. Here is the
proof. The backyard of my parents... A somewhat gothic garden. The best part...
I laugh hysterically, "oh my god, what is that". Dad matter of fact
like responds, "a cherub's head on a stake" like it's so perfectly
normal.
I always think your dad sounds so great! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of biased but I think so too ;)
DeleteHAHAHAHA! :) Sigh ... <3
ReplyDeleteI know, right! Awww, HUG!
DeleteI've been feeling a bit sombre today.
ReplyDeleteThen I saw the cherub's head on a stake and snorted tea all over my keyboard :)
You're welcome! ;p
DeleteROFLMAO!!! How totally BIZARRE and FUN!! Now I'm feeling like actually going out into my garden again, and finding something's head to put on a stake to weird out the neighbors even more than my wooden crosses and memorial stones do.
ReplyDeleteMy dad is a weirdo; what can I say ;D ha ha ha you totally should!
DeleteWe could start a global 'head on stake' movement.... I may have to go beach combing for a suitable artefact...!
DeleteThat's just plain awesome. I really admire it when people do unique things and don't see such as any sort of big deal. There's a carefree-ness and confidence to such that appeals to me endlessly.

The more I hear about your dad, the more I like him.
ReplyDeleteHere, I have St. Fiacre (formerly thought to be St. Francis) with his head on a plate. He belonged to the former owners of our house, and I have him in an out of the way spot in the front garden. I have had visitors double over with laughter when they see him.
